THE GRANGE GAZETTE SEPTEMBER 2018 EDITION

WE HAVE THE X FACTOR

Earlier in the year we were entertained by Kieran who is an exceptional singer and a lovely young man.

We are delighted to say Kieran is appearing on the X-Factor this year and we hope everyone will support him. We are very fortunate Kieran's mum is also a member of our care team and we are so proud and pleased for all the family.

The X-Factor returns to the television on Saturday 1st September and we will keep everyone advised of Kieran's progress.

Activities

On September 12th we have a visit from local artist Barry Sutcliffe for a demonstration of watercolour painting. Resident's, family and friends are welcome to join Barry and art materials will be supplied for anyone who would like to receive a lesson in watercolours or simply have a go! Barry and Shirley will be on hand to assist you all.

Hansons Auctioneers have confirmed they will be visiting the Grange on Wednesday 14th November for our fundraising event. You may have seen Charles Hanson on the 'Antiques Road Trip' and 'Bargain Hunt'. Charles has agreed to send one of his valuing team to the Grange and we hope family, friends and staff will bring their antiques and items of interest to be appraised. There will be a fee of £1 per item with all contributions added to the Resident's Fund. If you have a 'thinggummy bob' at the back of the cupboard and want to know what it is or wonder if you have an item of value simply come along to the event and support the resident's fund at the same time. Light refreshments and raffle will also be available.

September Birthdays

We have a lot of birthday cake to eat this month! Firstly Lionel celebrates his birthday on the 7th, both Gwen and Graham on the 15th, followed by Ida on the 16th, Olive on the 19th and Hilda on the 21st. Our best wishes to you all on your birthday.

On Sunday the 9th Alice celebrates a very special 103rd birthday and I am sure you will join everyone in wishing her a wonderful day.
