SEPTEMBER 2014

Some exciting news, we have learnt that Cyril will be recieving the AWARD OF THE LEGION D' HONNEUR. The government of France advised the MOD, it wishes to award this award to all surviving veterans, not only of the Normandy landings, but also of the wider battle for Normandy, the invasion of Provence, the liberation of Paris and the Liberation of France. We await with pride and great anticipation from the French Embassy!

We have had a busy August, we had our own Van Gogh Day with residents creating different sunflowers during our craft sessions. We have introduced fruity fridays, looking at exotic fruit and vegetables, discussing reciepes and evoking childhood memories. Our Smoothie tasting session went down very well too.

Both ladies and gentlemen now take part in the flower arranging sessions and hopefully you have noticed their displays around the home. We all had a wonderful trip to All Saints Church Sawley for their flower festival. A wonderful lunch was had by all!
