Entertainment and Activities
We have a busy month ahead in preparation for Christmas and the Christmas Tree Festival at St. Giles Church in Sandiacre
where the Grange will be decorating a Christmas tree with our handmade decorations. The festival takes place from December 1st until December 3rd in aid of the St.Giles’ Church Funds and everyone at the Grange wish Kathryn and her team at St Giles
every success.
We welcome our friends from Sandiacre Churches Together during the morning of Wednesday 22nd November with their church service in the main lounge from 11am.
PWS Clothing will call at the Grange after lunch on Friday 17th November. Paul carries a large range of ladies clothing and should anyone be interested in something new for Christmas time or require a particular item of clothing please advise Shirley of your size and preferred colours and she will contact PWS regarding stock. Thank you.
Have-a-G0 Art Group
During October our art group enjoyed looking at the abstract paintings of Jackson Pollock and used pouring techniques to create the paintings soon to be displayed in the dining area. We always enjoy trying new craft techniques and continue to have-a-go at different projects.
Remembrance Day
This year Remembrance Day falls on Saturday the 11th with Remembrance Sunday
on the 12th November. Poppies will be available and provided for residents.
November Birthdays
We have a bumper month of celebrations ahead. Kath W enjoys her special day on the 6th, Margaret F on the 9th and Eunice on
the 29th while we wish the very best of days to Keith T on the 27th and Brian on the 30th.
Everyone at the Grange send their best wishes and hope you each enjoy your birthdays.
Staff News
We are happy to welcome Lorraine on her return to the Senior Team at the Grange.
We have missed you!
Foodbank Collection
Continuing our ‘Helping Others’ Campaign
from the 1st November until the end of the month we have a foodbank collection point in the main reception area. Your kind donations will be delivered to the Canaan Trust in Long Eaton well in time for Christmas and a ‘Shopping List’ of suitable items can be found by the signing-in register. We appreciate these are difficult times for everyone but your donations of tins, dried foodstuffs and toiletries make such a difference to the lives of others. Thank you for your continued support.
Forthcoming Christmas Events
Father Christmas will be visiting the Grange from 10.30am on Saturday 9th December and taking time from his busy schedule calling in to greet residents and visiting children.
Santa's helper would be grateful if the christian names and ages of all children who will be meeting Father Christmas are added to the list by the signing-in register by December 6th. The elves will be loading Santa’s sleigh with gifts for all children on his ‘nice list’ and want to ensure no one is disappointed. Activities and refreshments will be available in the dining room for families before the arrival of Father Christmas while the ‘Singing Santa’ will be calling in after lunch to entertain our residents. We look forward to enjoying a lovely day.
Christmas Family Party
including a Carol Concert from our very own choir ‘the Elderberries’.
On Wednesday 13th December you are invited to join our Christmas Family Party where residents, families, staff and children can enjoy buffet food and refreshments with games, stalls and the grand raffle draw. Confirmation and details will be posted on the main notice board during November.
