THE GRANGE GAZETTE

MARCH 2018 EDITION

March can be an ‘in the middle’ month….bitingly cold with beautiful blue skies and bright sunshine.  It brings the promise of Spring and we have spring flowers raising their sweet faces to the sky, bringing splashes of colour to the garden.

The days are starting to get lighter and the clocks move forward an hour in the early hours of Sunday 25th March.

March is also a busy month.  This year Mother’s Day falls on Sunday 11th March and Easter takes place from Good Friday on March 30th until Easter Monday on April 2nd.

ACTIVITIES

We hope you enjoyed the entertainment over the past few weeks with the welcome return of your favourite artistes.

It was lovely to offer Kieran a platform to showcase his talented singing.

He will be returning to the Grange towards the end of March before he flies to Greece after securing a contract to entertain at the Blue Lagoon in Kos. Congratulations Kieran on achieving success in you chosen career.

We would like to thank you for your donations of knitting wool.  It’s so rewarding to help others and we have received phone calls and many letters of thanks from neo-natal units all over the country.  Well done to all our knitters.

Shirley is already collecting and making items for the Summer Fayre and at the moment would be grateful for your donations of teddys and soft toys for the children’s tombola.

We will be running an Easter Raffle this year and tickets will be on sale in the foyer from March 12th.  The prize draw will take place on Thursday 29th March.

All proceeds will be added to the resident’s fund to provide additional activities. Thank you for your continued support and good luck to you all.

MARCH BIRTHDAYS

During the coming month we have five birthdays at the Grange. On the 5th Audrey celebrates her special day while at the end of the month we have Miriam on the 28th, Jean on the 29th and both Norma and Margaret on the 30th.  Everyone at the Grange wish you every happiness and hope you enjoy your birthdays.

Poem

The North wind doth blow

The North wind doth blow, and we shall have snow,

And what will poor robin do then, poor thing?

He’ll sit in his barn and keep himself warm

And hide his head under his wing, poor thing.
