March 2017

‘March winds and

April showers

 bring forth May flowers.

Let us welcome the cold winds and blustery rain showers of March and look forward to the beauty of spring flowers and wildlife emerging in the garden. We have already greeted the shy snowdrops and look forward to a wonderful display in a few weeks. The robins have returned to the feeders once again and the squirrels provide everyone with a smile as we watch their cheeky antics!

ACTIVITIES

We have a busy month ahead with different activities and visits from your favourite entertainers. This month we have a visit from Alan Hill before he sets sail to entertain holidaymakers on the Oceana.  It will be sad to say Bon Voyage but I am sure he will visit the Grange again when his cruise ship returns to England later in the year.

We also have a date for your April diary when PWS (Pensioners with Style) will be visiting the Grange on the 5th from 2-4pm with their range of ladies and gentlemen’s clothing from a variety of fashion houses.

Payment is not essential on the day. An individual invoice can be raised for your purchase to be paid through Shirley within 14 days via cash or cheque.

You will find a price list and request form at the back of the newsletter and Shirley will be in touch with PWS before the beginning of April to ensure any items you would like to see are brought to the Grange.

Birthdays

The month of March will bring four birthdays to the Grange including a very special ‘leap year’ birthday when Bill Eyres celebrates his special day on the1st March.  Audrey celebrates her birthday on March 5th, Miriam on the 28th and Margaret on the 30th. Everyone at the Grange send their best wishes to you all.

February Quiz

Thank you to everyone who took part in our War Time Rationing Quiz. Well done to Hilda Goodliffe for achieving top marks and a special mention to Alma and Kathleen Wiltshire and for their contribution during our reminiscence activity.
