GRANGE GAZETTE

JUNE 2021 EDITION

Our many thanks to the residents and families who contributed to the Live and Local Project which our graphic artist Laura Brodrick titled ‘Sharing my Story’.

The display board is available for everyone to enjoy and the project will continue to evolve and develop over time. Those residents who have already taken part have their own decorated ‘memory box’ which contains photographs, postcards and tactile items relating to their ‘story’ and items can continue to be added to their memory box as time progresses.

We would like to thank Laura for her amazing drawings which captured the spirit of your happy memories and related to personal recollections.  We have provided framed copies as our gift to you and your families.

‘Sharing my Story’ continues and we look forward to expanding displays around the Grange. Shirley is happy to discuss the project with anyone  interested in the activity so they can begin their own exciting adventure.

Armchair Travel

During the past year there have been severe restrictions on travel due to Covid-19.  However we are hoping to enjoy an ‘Armchair Holiday’ to Hawaii during July with fancy dress, games and exotic food!

‘Grange Passports’ will be provided along with small personalised suitcases and we would like you, your family and your friends to provide holiday photographs or postcards which can be added to your case. Together we can reminisce and enjoy wonderful holiday memories.

Shirley will gladly take photographs of any donated pictures so the originals always remain in your care. Watch the notice board for the date of our departure to Hawaii and until then ‘Aloha’.

Entertainment

Finally the weather has improved and we can welcome Johnny Victory for his outside concert on the 7th June at 2pm. Johnny is a great favourite and we look forward to hearing songs from the ‘Rat Pack’.

Resident’s Fund

Only a few tomato plants remain on Vinnie’s stall.  So far this 8 year old young man has managed to raise £59.20 for the Resident’s Fund to provide entertainment and activities for all. Vinnie you are a star!

Also, if anyone is holidaying in Norfolk please call in at The General Store in Ringstead and see the Hidden Treasures at the rear of the shop.  The new owners are a lovely young couple who have happily agreed to continue selling our vintage bric-a-brac to raise money for the Grange Resident’s Fund. We send our thanks to Nathan and Leah and best wishes in your new venture.

Due to restrictions and the absence of Christmas and Summer fundraising events these acts of kindness mean a great deal to all.  Thank you.
