THE GRANGE GAZETTE JANUARY 2022 EDITION Should auld acquaintance be forgot And never brought to mind? Should auld acquaintance be forgot And days of auld lang syne? For auld lang syne, my dear For auld lang syne We’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet For days of auld lang syne The Grange wishes you all a very Happy New Year in the hope you will have many blessings in the year to come Have-a-Go Crafters We have a thriving craft community within the Grange and we are always willing to ‘have-a-go’ at trying different art techniques. Last year our main project was an installation of interactive pieces relating to our lives and titled ‘Sharing my Story’. This year we aim to use our craft sessions to look at artists and create different pieces of work relating to them which we can display around the Grange and in the gardens. We will begin our session in January by looking at Frida Kahlo and celebrate her inspirational outlook on life. We will learn about the artist, make flower crowns, discover quotes and enjoy creating a vibrant wall display incorporating items Frida famously included in her work when we use mosaic tiles, decoupage, photography and textiles. Come along and ‘have-a-go’ , have fun, make new friendships and be inspired! The Elderberries Last month’s Christmas Concert was warmly received by residents and staff and we enjoyed an afternoon of carols and favourite Christmas songs. The Elderberries have since received many requests for future concerts and we will share an afternoon of ‘campfire’ favourites on Wednesday 26th in the dining room after lunch. Ladies Clothing We have been asked if our regular clothing supplier would be able to visit the Grange every month. While this isn’t always possible we are pleased to advise another local supplier can provide ladies trousers, cardigans, jumpers and tops. All items are sensibly priced and in a large range of sizes including elastic-waist trousers in a variety of lengths and colours at £11 a pair and button through cardigans at £14. While we have limited samples; photographs showing styles and colours are available and also displayed in the foyer. The spring collection will be available soon. Please see Shirley who is happy to help with your enquiries and arrange delivery to the Grange. January Birthdays This month we celebrate the birthdays of Joyce B on the 15th and Maragaret S on the 21st. Everyone at the Grange sends their best wishes and we hope you enjoy the very best of days
