THE GRANGE GAZETTE
JANUARY 2018 EDITION
Warm wishes for a Happy New Year to you all.
Sincere thanks for your support at the Christmas Fayre. First of all we must thank Father Christmas for taking time from his busy schedule to visit the Grange. We also must thank our wonderful staff, their family and friends, volunteers from the Risley Not-so-Young group and the Holiday Inn. You pulled together in adverse conditions and made the afternoon a splendid occasion for the residents.
We raised an amazing £884.50 for the Resident’s Fund which provides activities and entertainment for all. Thank you again for your continued support.
ACTIVITIES
While January always seems a quiet month after the hustle and bustle of Christmas we have a number of entertainers visiting the Grange over the coming weeks. A particular date for your diary is Wednesday 3rd January when Roland will be joining us for an afternoon of Elvis and Abba. On Monday 22nd Barbara Parkinson B.E.M. will visit with her many hats and entertaining talk about her travels around the world. Barbara was awarded the British Empire Medal for her services to charity and the Grange always likes to support her fundraising activities.
Please see the attached sheet for entertainment throughout the month.
QUIZ RESULTS
Throughout the year we have enjoyed a monthly quiz and Shirley would like to thank you for taking part. This year we have a new Champion and we would like to say congratulations to Ernest on achieving overall top marks. We hope you like your trophy and continue the challenge to retain the honour of Quiz Champion in what will be a very special ‘birthday’ year.
BIRTHDAYS
This month everyone at the Grange would like send best wishes to Gladys Whitehouse on the 22nd January. We hope you have a lovely birthday.
