BBC RADIO DERBY
DAFFODIL CAMPAIGN
PUT A DAFFODIL IN YOUR WINDOW
Last year we saw rainbows displayed all over the country which uplifted the nation at a difficult time. This year Radio Derby have introduced a campaign encouraging everyone to put a daffodil in their window. The Grange are supporting the campaign and residents are making daffodils to brighten up their bedroom windows and the lounge areas.
We want to help Radio Derby spread some positivity and daffodils signify strength and resilience as well as being a sign of new beginnings.
Help to make a difference.
Calling All Crafters!
We are launching an appeal for anyone who enjoys knitting or crocheting to create ‘Twiddle Squares’ which will be used to make sensory blankets.
Squares should be 10cm/4inches square and can be sewn together to make blankets no more than 60cm/24inches square.
We are looking for bright ‘happy colours’ using washable wool. Squares can be plain or patterned and with or without tactile additions for example ribbons, tassels or pompoms.
A big cheer to Kathleen who has already been busy with her knitting needles and completed a blanket in record time! You are amazing!
Please feel free to contact Shirley on 0755 149 2778 should you need to discuss collection. Our thanks to you all.
February Birthdays
This month we celebrate birthdays with Kathleen on the 4th of February and Keith R on the 26th . Everyone at the Grange send their best wishes and hope you enjoy your very special days.
Daffodils
by William Wordsworth
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o’er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
