GRANGE GAZETTE
FEBRUARY 2020 EDITION
We hope you all enjoyed celebrating the Chinese New Year last month with crafts, quiz sheets and a delicious Chinese menu from the amazing Karen and Muriel in the kitchen. It was lovely to see everyone having a great time and a big well done to our residents for using chop sticks…you are all superstars!
Throughout the year we will continue our ‘Armchair Travel’ activities on a regular basis and visit various countries from the comfort of your armchair. We have already received requests to visit Mexico, Turkey, Greece and Italy and a slip can be found attached to the newsletter for any further suggestions. Don’t forget to collect your ‘Armchair Passport’ from Shirley before your next adventure. We would like to create a display around this activity and would be grateful when family and friends are overseas for postcards addressed to ‘Armchair Travel’ at the Grange. Many thanks to you all.
Pap Jon’s
HAPANIN TOUR
Helping Australian People and
Animals Now In Need
After the success of our joint fundraising event for the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance with Papa Jon and the Breaston Ukulele Players we will be holding another event in April but this time for the Australian Fire Service. The recent bushfires have devastated large areas of Australia with a tragic loss of life and a staggering 1 billion animals lost to the fires.
All musicians donate their time to the event and we have plans to hold an Australian themed afternoon with food, stalls and raffle. It would be fun to hold an Australian fancy dress competition on the day with prizes for all who participate. If we have any Crocodile Dundees, Kylies or Dame Edna Everages out there please see Shirley if you would like to enter! Details will be posted on both notice boards and in forthcoming newsletters. We look forward to seeing you at the event.
Don’t forget to make a date in your diary for the visit of Johnny Victory on Monday 10th February when romance will be in the air as we begin a week of Valentine’s Day activities culminating with Prize Bingo on the 14th when you can enjoy an afternoon of entertainment with a sip of something sparkling, chocolates and cake. All welcome!
