GRANGE GAZETTE

August 2019 Edition

ART at the HeART

We hope everyone enjoyed the Celebration Day last month. Many craft items are now displayed around the building and in the garden showing our new skills and amazing art work.  It was a lovely sunny afternoon and we had to eat our ice creams very quickly in the hot weather! The new Mayor of Erewash Sue Beardsley and her Consort were given a tour of the artwork and spoke with residents and family.

In the garden the Punch and Judy Show brought back many happy memories and it was lovely to be joined by so many family and friends.

Vera presented the mayor with a bouquet of flowers and made a wonderful impromptu speech thanking the mayor for her visit.

Erewash Borough Council have commented on their twitter page and congratulated the Grange on  their achievements and also included a photograph of Vera.

Artist Karen Herrick will be calling in at the Grange to select various pieces of work to display at the Erewash Museum Beach Event which runs from the 19th August.  ART at the HeART was a magical experience and we would like to thank the ‘two Janettes’ for their help during the sessions. It made such a difference.

Inspired by everyone’s enthusiasm we hope you will join the weekly ‘HAVE-A-GO’ group which can be found in the dining room on a Tuesday or Wednesday after lunch, depending on pre-booked entertainment.  As the title suggests you can ‘HAVE-A-GO’ at different crafts or bring along your knitting needles while you knit and natter! It’s entirely for you and a special time to gather around the table, make new friends and chat to old.

Please have a word with Shirley if you have any concerns and simply bring along a smile on the day!
