GRANGE GAZETTE

OCTOBER 2021 EDITION

We are proud to announce

 WEDNESDAY 27TH OCTOBER

THE ELDERBERRIES

will perform their first concert from 2pm.

Please take a seat in the dining room after lunch and the resident’s singing group will entertain you all.

A huge thank you to Peter for entertaining everyone during the Wild West singalong.

Peter will also be playing the harmonica during the Elderberries Concert alongside PJ who will support him on the guitar and banjo. We have a wealth of talented residents and look forward to expanding our singing group while we enjoy our weekly ‘jamming sessions’ with PJ.

We now have a number of drums and djembe to form our own ‘Drum Circle’ and we anticipate our first drum session in early November.

Come along and enjoy good music, good songs and good company every Wednesday in the dining room.

Fundraising

We continue our efforts to help others and donated a number of ‘comfort bags’ to a local women’s charity.  Each bag contains a doll or teddy bear knitted by our residents, a selection of children’s toiletries, drawing books and crayons.

We are also raising funds for the British Legion and this year we have gone ‘pom-pom’ crazy!

You will see ‘pom-pom flowers’ appearing in the grounds of the Grange and we hope to raise funds from the sale of crafted ‘pom-pom bouquets’ which contain pom-pom poppies!  The British Legion have requested photographs of our crafted plaques and bouquets and hopefully these will be published on their fundraising site.  Photographs will also be posted on our notice board and we would like thank Marion, Kathleen and Janet for all their knitting and crafting.

PWS

On November 3rd Paul from PWS will be visiting the area with a range of clothing. We appreciate not all families are able to visit on the day and our staff are always happy to assist but would appreciate an indication of spending limits and methods of payment.

If you require a particular item of clothing please have a word with Shirley. PWS carries stock of ladies and gentlemen’s wear including underwear, nightwear, jogging bottoms, ladies trousers, skirts, tops and knitwear and Paul will bring along the items you request with no obligation to buy.

October Birthday

Congratulations to Zoe who enjoys her 100th birthday on October 15th. Everyone at the Grange send their best wishes on such a momentous occasion and we hope you have a wonderful day.
