THE GRANGE GAZETTE

OCTOBER EDITION 2017

We hope you will enjoy the flower arrangements, art work and photographs we have on display at the Grange this month.

Six of our displays follow the theme of ‘At the Musicals’. How many popular films, shows and songs can you recognise?

By completing the competition form in our Flower Festival programme all residents and their families have an opportunity to win a prize worth £20 kindly donated by Weleda.

The winning entry will be drawn at the end of the month.

Our thanks to Simply Flowers of Sandiacre and Flower Fare of Ilkeston for their help and support.

ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS

The weeks are flying by and in the build up to our Christmas Fayre it will soon be time for Christmas activities and fundraising again. Any donations of Bric-a-Brac are always welcome.

Towards the end of this month and throughout November residents will be making individual and personal decorations for our Christmas tree in the quiet lounge.  Shirley would be grateful for any donations of craft items suitable for this project including photographs, fabrics, card, paper etc.

We must also say thank you for the knitting wool which keeps Kathleen

Wiltshire knitting such lovely bonnets for the local neo-natal units.  Kathleen has broken the 100-bonnet-barrier and it is lovely to receive the many thank you letters from the neo-natal units.  We are proud of you Kathleen, well done.

Our many thanks to residents, family, friends and staff for contributing to the raffle for Macmillan Cancer Support. We raised a total of £50.

October Birthdays

This month we say Happy Birthday to Vera Deacon on the 8th and Mary Littlewood on the 28th.  Everyone at the Grange send their warmest wishes
