Grange Gazette

November 2019 Edition

We must thank everyone for making last months Notts and Lincs Air Ambulance fundraising event  a great success.  Together we raised a fantastic £250 during the afternoon from raffle sales, tombola, cakes and bric-a-brac. Everyone enjoyed the entertainment from Papa Jon and friends while the Breaston Ukulele Group returned to the Grange for a popular singalong to songs from the 50s and 60s. Thank you to all concerned for making the event go with a swing.

As the dark nights draw in and we see the first frosts of autumn we look forward to a busy month ahead.

On Thursday 14th November we are holding a photoshoot for our 2020 calendar.  Your four-legged doggy companions are invited to join the Grange to have their photographs taken and displayed in the lounge areas.   Residents will be able to choose their favourite photographs which will be reproduced on our calendar in time for Christmas.

Please add your details to the list located in the foyer to help organise the photoshoot. We do hope you will be able to join us on the day however if you are unable to attend please have a word with Shirley to arrange forwarding a photograph of your own. Thank you.

PWS Clothing are calling in on Tuesday 19th with their autumn/winter collection.  Paul from PWS only has a short time to spend in the area so please let Shirley know if you are interested in any particular items of clothing which will be delivered in time for Christmas.

Northeast Producers travelling theatre company will be visiting the Grange on Thursday 28th November from 2pm with their production of Jack and the Beanstalk.  Make a date in your diary for this event as their pantomimes are always well supported by residents, family and friends with staff participation and a good old singalong!

Father Christmas will be visiting the Grange on the morning of Saturday 30th November.  He is really busy this year but will be calling in with his reindeer to receive your wish lists…don’t be on the naughty list… come along and say hello.

Shirley will be in touch with the elves in Santa’s Workshop to make sure they include a present on Santa’s sleigh for all the children who visit. It would be really helpful if children’s names and ages could be added to the list in the foyer no later than Monday 25th November to avoid disappointment on the day.

Kelly from Pheonix Face Painting in Sileby will be at the Grange from 10am with free face painting for all and there will be meet and greet ‘reindeer rides’.

Craft items will be available for all children to join in our Christmas competition. We would like the children to make a Christmas card for Mr and Mrs Claus with the winner announced at the Christmas Fayre and awarded with a £10 one4all gift voucher.

This is such a special day in our Christmas calendar and look forward to seeing everyone again this year. And don’t forget to bring along your singing voices for a chorus of Christmas songs in the lounge areas.
