THE GRANGE GAZETTE

APRIL 2022 EDITION

God bless you at Easter

And keep you all year through,

May God give you all the faith it takes

To make your dreams come true,

May his love and wisdom always help

To guide you on your way,

May His light shine down upon you now

To bless your Easter Day.

Wishing everyone a joyful Easter from the Grange

There is an old proverb that ‘April showers bring May flowers’ and we have a chorus of daffodils brightening the garden. Residents have also planted spring bulbs and sweetpeas in readiness for the coming months. Although the weather is quite mixed we are enjoying lighter nights and the sights and sounds of spring raise our spirits.

Plant Pot Appeal

Vinnie’s Plant Stall will have plants and planters available in the coming weeks so be sure to check out his stall by the main door. Vinnie is almost 9 years old and still enjoys planting flowers and vegetables which raise money towards the Resident’s Fund. If anyone has a surplus stock of plastic plant pots or planters which Vinnie can use please mention this to a member of staff.

DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal

Thank you for your support during the conflict in Ukraine.  We have donated toiletries, blankets and pet food through the Erewash Care Team at Ilkeston Hospital and have continued to raise funds with the sale of knitted blue and yellow daffodils, pom-poms and headbands and also a hamper raffle. As a result we are donating £100 to the DEC. We have previously supported a registered animal charity who are currently in the Ukraine helping and feeding the abandoned dogs and cats.  We are hoping to help further and will be holding more fundraising activities during the coming weeks.

Papa John kindly assists our singing group and visits the residents to play guitar during the Elderberries practice sessions and concerts.  Please support him on April 15th during his fundraising gig for Ukraine at :

The Chequers Inn Breaston 2-5pm
